Leslie Benjamin Favell
Information from the Commonwealth War graves Commission: –
893238 Private Leslie Benjamin Favell, Army Catering Corps, attached to the Royal Artillery, died between 1st November 1944 and 2nd November 1944 and is buried in grave IV. K. 1. in the Florence War Cemetery, Italy. He was 28 years old. The personal inscription on the gravestone reads “Missed by those who loved you best. A vacant chair not filled”
His death was reported in the Hunts Post on the 7th December that year, describing him as having drowned in the Mediterranean theatre of war. Florence is beside the river Arno.
